                                                    THE OLD TESTAMENT IS A “PICTURE BOOK” 

                                                    And ABC's OF JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF, 

                                                    AS FOUND IN THE NEW TESTAMENT TEXT.

                                 God uses His Word to communicate with us in the same way He has us communicate with each other.

 

                                              HOW WE COMMUNICATE WITH OTHERS IN PRINT:                                  

                                                                        1 We use an alphabet of individual letters.                                                     

                                                                        2.We assign sounds to each letter.

                                                                        3.We put letters together that represent sounds.

                                                                        4.We link sounds together to make words.

                                                                        5.We put words together into sentences and convey our thoughts.

                                                          6.We put sentences together into paragraphs and expand our thoughts. 

   

        GOD IS SPIRIT AND IN HIS WORD,  HE USES HIS “OT ALPHABET” TO COMMUNICATE HIS CHRIST.

                                                            

             1. God has an “alphabet” made up of OT people, animals, places, and things, numbers, colors, and materials.

 

                2. Based on His first mention of  things, God assigns meanings to His "alphabet".  Most often, these “first mentions” are in

                    the Book of Genesis which is the “Seed Plot” of God’s Word.

                    Example: God created man on Day 6. So, based on this “first mention", in all of Scripture, God uses the number 6 to refer to man.

                3. God’s OT stories have human characters who either “picture” Jesus Christ, God’s express image, or they picture God's enemies who                      are the unsaved.  Before our salvation, we were enemies of  God.  Romans 8:7

                    These OT stories explain how God deals with His people (the saved), and also how He deals with His enemies (the unsaved).

                    We need to read and know the OT stories.

 

                4. Most importantly, these OT stories help us to understand the NT text.  It is the NT text which tells us of God’s great love for 

                    His Son Jesus Christ.  The NT  also tells God’s purpose for all He has done, is doing, and will do. This is all referred to as                                         "doctrines". Ephesians 3:8-11
                                               

                5. In the NT God gives us a clear storyline of the OT “pictures”. The NT storyline are the doctrines, or Truths, that

                    express God’s thoughts about His Son Jesus Christ!  Jesus Christ is the main Focus of God’s Word. 

                   

                6. God is Love. Love is an Action Verb.  Action Verbs need an object.  God’s Object for everything He does, is His Son Jesus Christ! 

                    By having both the Old and New Testaments, God has given us “the witness of two”.  We have two ways to understand Truths about

                    God and His Son Jesus Christ.  In the OT, God has given us "physical pictures” which we, as humans, are able to understand. 

                    In the NT, God has given us spiritual Truths which we can only understand by matching them to the OT "physical pictures".    

                7. If we can’t match up a NT doctrine with an OT “picture”, then we know something is either wrong with our understanding of the NT

                    doctrine, or that we don’t accurately know the OT “picture”, or physical story.

                    God wants His people to clearly "see” His plan and purpose for the saved, who are the Church, the elect of God. 

                    We need to pray that God’s Spirit will enlighten “…the eyes of our understanding” to the Truths about God and our 

                    Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 

                    Ephesians 1:17-23

 

 

                         

                             THE NEW TESTAMENT TEXT TELLS US TO USE THE OLD TESTAMENT

                             Luke 24:27 “And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, He (Jesus) expounded unto them in all

                                               the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.”

 

                                    Romans 15:4 (Paul wrote) “For whatsoever things were written before time (OT), were written for our                                                         learning that we, through patience and comfort of the Scriptures, might have hope.”

 

                                     II Peter 3:2 (Peter wrote) “That you be mindful of the words which were spoken by the holy prophets                                                       (OT) and of the commandment of us the Apostles of the Lord and Savior."

 

 

 

                  HERE ARE A FEW SAMPLES OF MATCHING OLD “PICTURES” 

                  WITH NEW TESTAMENT DOCTRINES:

 

               This is just to give you an initial understanding of God’s exciting method for teaching us about Himself and His Son Jesus Christ.

                           Understood in its context, this verse means to be absent from the Old Covenant, the Body of Moses’

                           teachings and to be present with the New Covenant teachings of the Lord.

                 vs 2    For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: (New Cov)

 

                 vs 3    If so be that being clothed (with New Covenant – righteousness of Christ) we shall not be found naked.

                           (-in Old Covenant, they were not clothed with Christ’s righteousness)

 

                 vs 4    For we that are in this tabernacle (Old Cov) do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon,

                             (New Cov) that mortality (Old Cov) might be swallowed up of life. (New Cov)

 

                 vs 5    Now He that wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, Who also hath given unto us the earnest (down payment) of the Spirit.

 

                 vs 6    Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, while we are at home in the body, (New Cov) we are absent from the Lord:

 

                 vs 7    (For we walk by faith, not by sight)

 

                 vs 8    We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, (Old Cov) and to be present with the Lord. (New Cov)

 

 

                                  This only makes sense, if you know that Jesus Christ is the New Covenant!!!

                                                    

                      Thus saith the LORD (God), “In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I

                  helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee (Jesus) for a covenant of the people, to establish the                         earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages.”  Isaiah 49:8

 

 

         Many wrongly teach this verse means that when believers die, they go right to Heaven         to be with the Lord. Usually they leave the second “and” out of the verse. 

        They almost always add, “is to be” to the verse.  What they've left out and what                     they've added have changed the entire meaning of the verse.

 

                                                                              II Corinthians 5:8

                    WRONG!       “We are confident, I say, willing rather to be absent from the body,

                                                is to be present with the Lord.”  (left out second “and”)  (added “is to be”)

 

                  CORRECT!        “We are confident, I say, willing rather to be absent from the                                                     body, and to be present with the Lord.

Abraham’s Bosom:             

                                        

        "ABRAHAM'S BOSOM" IS NOT ABOUT HELL AND ETERNAL SUFFERING!

 

                                  IT’S ABOUT THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND SALVATION!

 

           “Abraham’s Bosom” is in Luke 16:19:31  “The Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus”

                                          

              It’s about being in favor with God, or not being in favor with Him. Only because of Jesus Christ, 

           do the save have favor with God.

 

           The word “bosom” denotes a place of honor, of being well cared for.  The elect of God entered Abraham’s bosom 

           at the moment God predestined them to be His elect to whom He gives the gift of salvation.

                                                                                                                                                                       Romans 8:29-30 

 

                               All the parables are about The Kingdom of God!

                                           Most wrongly teach that this parable has to do with death, the grave, 

                                     and eternal suffering for the unsaved.

Accountability:

 

                            God Holds Believers Accountable For Their Brothers And Sisters In The Lord

.

                                   A Scriptural example is when Paul rebuked Peter for his actions which denied the Gospel of Grace.

 

                                               Peter was a Jew and usually sat and ate with the Gentile believers. But,

                                               when Jewish guests came, Peter sat with the Jewish believers

                                               “…fearing them that were of the circumcision” Gal 2:12

 

                            Paul corrected Peter about how he treated the Gentiles when the Jews arrived.

                                              Paul said,

                                              “But when Peter was come to Antioch, I (Paul) withstood him (Peter) 

                                              to the face because he (Peter) was to be blamed.”  Gal 2:11

Adams, The Two: 

                    

                         THE BIBLE IS A CONTRAST OF THE TWO ADAMS' TEMPTATIONS:

                                      

                                          “And so it is written, the first man Adam was made a living soul;

                                          the last Adam (Jesus Christ) was made a quickening spirit.” I Co 15:45

 

                                        

                                                    Man’s Temptations Are In Three Areas:

                         The Lust of the Flesh, The Lust of the Eyes, The Pride of Life.

                        

1. Temptation: The Lust of the Flesh:  First Adam,     “…the tree was good for food                 Second Adam, Jesus Christ, Command this stone

Adamic Christology:                               

                                                   ADAMIC CHRISTOLOGY IS THE STUDY

                                                   OF THE ENTIRE BIBLE BEING A CONTRAST

                                           OF THE FIRST AND SECOND ADAMS.

                                           FIRST ADAM – FROM THE DUST OF THE EARTH

                                                    SECOND ADAM – FROM GOD OUR FATHER

                                                                                                                                             Read Romans 5:12-21

        We see in God's Word that nothing from the Earth can please our Heavenly Father. 

 

                                       Our Father is only pleased

                             With The Redemptive Work

                             of  His Son Jesus Christ.  

                                                                                                                                                              II Peter 1:17

Jesus Christ is God’s Word, or Seed.  John 1:1

 

Because of being in Christ, the saved are able to boldly approach the Father. Heb 4:16

 

Saved people have been given the gift of faith Eph 2:8 and they use this faith as the only way to please God their Father. Heb 11:6

 

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God, must believe that He is, and that He is a Rewarder 

 of them that diligently seek Him.” Heb 11:6 

 

  

 

Adamic Christology begins with the first man Adam, and ends with the Man Christ Jesus, the Second Adam.

In God’s mind, before He ever made the world, He planned to have the first Adam be of the earth, to be unspiritual.

God took dust from the ground and breathed the Breath of Life into this “Mud Man”.

 

When God made the Second Adam, the Man Christ Jesus, He took His Word, Seed from Himself, 

 and “planted” it in the womb of the woman. 

 Gen 3:15  

 

And the Word (God’s), was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten 

( Created and Promised One) of the Father, full of grace and truth." John 1:14

 

"When the fullness of time was come, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the law.  Gal 4:4

 

  

           Christ, God’s Word, is the “Essence” of God. 

 

         God also designed us so that our words are also the “essence” of us. 


“ for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks"

                                                                               Through the first Adam,

 

       "Sin entered into the world, and death by sin;  

       and  so death  passed upon all men,  for that

                                                    FROM THE BEGINNING, 

                              WE HAVE A PHYSICAL "PICTURE" OF THE STORY

                                            OF OUR SPIRITUAL SALVATION

 

                            It’s significant that the first Adam is not listed in the Hall of Faith.  Hebrews 11

                                             This tells us that God did not give the first Adam the gift of salvation. 

                                              If Adam was saved, God would have given him the gift of faith.

  

    Abel, Adam’s second son, is the first person listed in Hebrews 11. 

                                   Abel brought the firstling of his flock of sheep,the right sacrifice.   

                               Abel's lamb "pictures" Jesus Christ, “…the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” Rev 13:8

 

   Cain, Adam’s first son, brought fruit from his garden, his work!

                                         Cain’s offering pictures man trying to earn his own salvation. 

                             Because God did not accept Cain's offering, Cain  murdered his brother Abel. Gen 4 

 

   The First Adam, from the Earth, wanted the "Essence" of God. 

                                     We can read about this in Isaiah 14

 

                                                         Most people think Isaiah 14 is about Satan. 

 

                                                                 It is about the First Adam!

                         much more, they which receive abundance of grace 

                   and of the gift of righteousness, shall reign in life, 

                   by One, Jesus Christ." (Last Adam)

                         By creating the earthy Adam first, God is able to show forth His attributes                            of grace, mercy, longsuffering, patience, supremacy, holiness, power,                                              faithfulness, loving kindness, goodness, sovereignty and wrath

                  God's purpose for all that has happened, is happening,                                         and will happen, is to show forth His attributes to the principalities                     and powers (levels of angels)  Ephesians 3:8-13

            Because God did not extend His attributes of grace and mercy to                   the fallen angels, the principalities and powers, (remaining angels in              Heaven) have never seen God's grace and mercy. 

 

            God exhibits His grace and mercy to His elect, the Church. 

         The principalities and powers observe this, and through                        observing God extend His grace and mercy to us, they know

         God better.  They are able to praise God for all His wonderful                attributes. Ephesians 3:8-13

         God is Sovereign in His election of certain         people to salvation

 

           God did not elect certain people because of any good thing in them! 

 

            Isaiah 64:6    But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are 

                                    as filthy rags...

            Psalm 65:4    Blessed is the man whom Thou chooses, and causes to approach unto                                             Thee, the he may dwell in Thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the                                                 goodness of Thy house, even of Thy holy temple. 

             

                Psalm 110:3   Thy people shall be willing in the day of Thy power...

                                   (On God's appointed day of salvation for His people, He gives them a new heart toward Him. 

                                          This is part of The New Covenant in the blood of Jesus Christ. Heb 8:6-13, Jer 31:31-34, 32:38-40,                                             Ezek 36:25-27)

 

         John 15:16     (Jesus speaking) "You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and                                                ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your

                                   fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in My                                            Name, He may give it to you." 

         John 17:6        (Jesus praying to God our Father) 

                                    "I have manifested Thy Name unto the men which Thou gave Me out of                                         the world: Thine they were, and Thou gave them to Me; and they have                                           kept Thy Word." 

 

        It is God, not Jesus Christ, Who elects                certain people to salvation. 

                                                                                                                               Romans 9, Colossians 3:12 

    The elect, are God's love gift to His Son. John 17:6

    Jesus Christ will show His great love for His      Father by giving the elect back to God!   

   "...that God might be All in All!" I Corinthians 15:28

                                                                                                                                                                 

 

              Romans 3:10    "As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one."

 

           Romans 3:11   "There is none that understands, there is none that seek after God."

                 Romans 9:11   "For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good, or                                             evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand,

                                      not of works, but of Him that calls."
           
           I Cor 2:14       "But the natural man
(unsaved) receives not the things of the Spirit of God:                                         for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because                                             they are spiritually discerned."

 
               John 6:37        (Jesus speaking) "All that the Father gives Me shall come to Me; and him                                            that comes to Me I will in no wise cast out."

                  John 6:44        "No man can come to Me, (Jesus Christ) except the Father which hath sent                                           Me (Jesus Christ) draw him: and I (Jesus Christ) will raise him up at the last                                             day.
           I Thess 1:4       "Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God."

                II Peter 1:10       " ...give all diligence to make your calling and election sure..."           

                                                                    

                                                          Example of Election

 

                     “As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. 

                     What shall we say then?  Is there unrighteousness with God?  God forbid.“

                              God tells us that man’s error 

                is in his wrong Perception of God!

 

                                                   Psalm 50:21

 

                 (God speaking) “These things hast thou done, and I kept silence;

                thou thought that I was altogether such an one as thyself

                   but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.”

 
                         

                                                                                                                                                                                        

 

Adoption, The Spirit of:  

 

                                                        WE HAVE A "FATHER RELATIONSHIP" WITH GOD

                                            In the New Covenant (New Testament), God made possible 

                                            the giving of the Spirit of Adoption whereby we are able 

                                            to cry "Abba Father".    Romans 8:15

                                            

                                    Old Covenant  believers did not experience a

                                    "Father relationship" with God.

                                                                                                               Ro 8:15, 23, 9: 4,  Gal 4:5, Eph 1:5

Adversary of Jesus in the Wilderness:

 

           

            When Jesus was in the Wilderness, what was His "Satan"

          or "Adversary"? (opposing force)

               The Man Christ Jesus' human desires were His “adversary” or His “Satan.

               (opposing force).  Acts 2:22, Eph 4:13, I Tim 2:5

 

               The Book of James clearly tells us that man's inner desires tempts him:

 

.            From whence come wars and fighting among you? 

               Come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?” 

                                                                                                               James 4:1

 

             "Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted of God”: for God cannot be tempted with evil

 

                                              - shows that Jesus was not a "God-Man"

 

          neither tempts He any man: but every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed. 

 

          Then when lust hath conceived, it brings forth sin: 

 

          and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death.” James 1:13-15  

 

                                             Jesus' lust had not  "conceived"

                            He did not sin!

 
                                       Jesus had been 40 days without food and water. He was close to death.

                                       He was saved by living on every Word of God.  Luke 4:

 

                          

                            The First Adam did not live by God’s Word. 

                                   Thus, he disobeyed God.   Genesis 3

                                                                                                                       

 

                  JESUS, THE SECOND ADAM, LIVED BY GOD’S WORD!

                  THUS, JESUS NEVER SINNED AGAINST GOD.  

                                                                                                                        Hebrews 4:15

Age In Which We Live:

 

                                            Saved People Are Now Living In “The Age Without End”

 

                                                                Saved people already have eternal life!

                                                       

                                       For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son (Promised One)

                                that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, (no longer exist), but have eternal life.”

                                                                                                                                                                                                          John 3:16

Agency:

                                       

                                        "Agency" is the Hebrews’ Understanding That 

                                        God’s People Are Agents Who Speak For God.

                                                        

                                                "Agency" is the Hebrew way of thinking. The whole idea of redemption 

                                       is a Hebrew mindset.

                                       In Hebrew thought, if God thought anything to be done, 

                                       it absolutely would be done!

                                      The Hebrews believed that all things were of God, but not all things

                                       stood in the place of God.

 

                                       Example: Exodus 7:1

                                       And the LORD said unto Moses,

                                       “See I have made thee a God to Pharaoh: (Agency)

                                       and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.”

 

                                                 In Deuteronomy 29:1, 

 

                                       All Israel was standing before Moses as he recounted the words 

                                       of the covenant which the LORD commanded him to make with them in the 

                                       land of Moab and also Horeb.

 

                                                 In Deuteronomy 29:6,

 

                            Moses said, “I am the LORD your God.” (Agency)

                                                 Moses was God’s agent, the outward form of God. 

                                       And the people saw Moses as God.

 

                                                 This is the Hebrew mindset which we see throughout the OT.

                                       Because the Church says it’s just “understood”  Moses 

                                       was speaking for God, they teach error.

 

                                                 Another major error that the Church teaches is that the Angel of the LORD 

                                       was Jesus Christ before He came to Earth.

                                                The Truth is, God’s Agent was the Man Christ Jesus, not an angel.

 

                                                Just as Moses was total man, Jesus was a total Man. 

                                      Jesus was not a “God-Man”, as the Church wrongly teaches.

                                      Scripture does not even mention the term “God-Man”. 

                                      This concept is from their creeds, not from God’s Word.

Anathema:

                                                       “Anathema” Is Only Used Once In God’s Word

                                                       “Anathema” means cursed, or excommunicated from the Church.

                                            “Maranatha” means the Lord has come.

 

 

                                 The Creeds’ Use of "Anathema" is Unscriptural

                        It’s important to know that God’s Word does not say  if we don’t believe God came in the flesh,

                        we should be Anathema!

 

                             In the Creeds, it wrongly states that if a person doesn’t believe Jesus is God, he or she is not saved.

 

                             We must remember, the Creeds were written by men, not God!

 

 

 

Appoints, God: 

                                                            God Appoints All Things!

                                                         “For of Him, and through Him, and to Him, 

                                                          are all things: to Whom be glory for ever. Amen.”

                                                                        - the number of days each person will live 

                                                         - when each person will be born and where each person will live

                                                          - our spiritual birth, is the Day of our Salvation:

Apprehended of Christ:

                             Christ’s Goal For Us, And Also Our Goal For Ourselves Should Be:

                             “That I may know Him, and the power of His Resurrection, and the fellowship of

                             If by any means I might attain unto the Resurrection of the dead.”

                             “…being made conformable unto His death…

                             This means a dying to self. 

                             We must learn to put Christ first, others next, and ourselves last.

                             Our prayer should be to live the life Jesus Christ lived, the kind of life that led to His death, 

                             Jesus always did the will of His Father. 

                                    As saved sinners, we can’t live this life perfectly as Jesus Christ did,

                             but it should be our desire.

                                        At Pentecost, the Birth of the Church, Peter preached the                                                            Gospel and he referred to Jesus as

 

                        “a man approved of God." Acts 2:22

 

                                       If Jesus was a "God-Man", Peter would have said so!  

                                                 None of the Apostles ever said that Jesus Christ was a “God-Man”. 

                                       In fact, the term “God-Man” is not in Scripture.

Ascended, No One Has Yet:

 

                     Jesus Said That No Man Has Ascended to Heaven   

                                                                                                                                                                               John 3:13

 

                        Jesus Christ, Who is fully Man, was the first Man to enter Heaven.

                                                                                                     Ezek 22:30, I Co 15:20-26.

 

                             All believers who have died, are still in the grave, “asleep in Jesus”,

                             waiting for that Great Resurrection Day!

                                                                                                                                                I Thess 4:13-18

                                     In Acts 2:27, Peter quotes Psalm 16:10 where David prophetically said that

                             God would not leave his (David’s) soul in hell (the grave) nor would God 

                             allow His Holy One (Jesus) to see corruption.

 

                             Acts 2:29 says that King David is still in the grave waiting for that Great Day.

                             In  Acts 2:34, Peter says, “…for David is not ascended into the Heaven

                              "As for me, I will behold Thy face (Jesus Christ's) in righteousness: 

                      I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with Thy likeness." 

  

                               "when I awake" shows that David believed he would be in the grave waiting for the                                                                                             Messiah to come.  David did not believe that he would go directly to heaven when he died.

                                      

 

              The entire purpose for Peter’s message 

             in Acts 2, was to show: 

                      - that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead, Acts 2:24

                      - and that David was not raised!  Acts 2:29

                   God’s plan is to have the entire Body of Christ rise 

                   in the air to meet our Head, the Lord Jesus Christ.

     Jesus Christ’s promise to believers is a resurrection from the dead!

   Then believers will be able to say, “Death, where is your sting?”

Ashes!  No Eternal Suffering:

 

                                  The unsaved perish the moment they die.

        The OT sacrificial system is a “picture” of how God deals with both sin and the sinner.

 

   Because ashes can’t burn, we have a “picture” that there is 

  no eternal burning for the unsaved.  Scripture tells us the  unsaved           "perish"meaning to no longer exist.  John 3:16

 

                 The graves of the unsaved will one day be thrown into the Lake of Fire. 

                 This is called “to surely die”, or “the Second Death”. 

                 This will happen after the reappearance of Jesus Christ. Rev 20:14

 

                      In the OT sacrificial system, God had

               sin eradicated, not the sinner!  

 

               Ashes can’t burn!!! Hallelujah!

 

          This shows that there's no eternal punishing!

   The punishment of the unsaved is to perish, not exist!                                                                                                                                                                             John 3:16

 

           Because  ashes can't burn, the ashes of the sacrificial animals were carried out 

           to a clean place. This clean place “pictures”  all life returning to God, Who is

           a Clean Place. This does not mean that the unsaved live eternally in a relationship 

           with God. It is the spirit that returns to God,

                                           That God may be "All in All” 

                                                                                                                                               I Co 15:28. 

 

  We also see that the animals did not suffer. They were killed by a quick knife to the throat.  

 

  Only our sinless Lord Jesus Christ suffered for sin, our sin!  

 

  Right now, sin does bring us temporal sufferings, but there is no OT “picture” 

  of eternal suffering. 

 

  Sin is not "infinite" (having no end). If sin was "infinite", then all the unsaved would 
  suffer forever.  But they don’t!  God's Word says the unsaved perish.

 If sin is "infinite", Jesus Christ would have had to suffer forever! 

 Anything of "infinite value" has no end. It's in the sphere of God. 

 

 

                    In Hebrews 10:17 God said,

              "And their sins and inquities will I remember no more."

               Even the memory of the unsaved will be removed.  Isaiah 26:14

 

 

                     Praise God, that Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sins!

 

                         Jesus Christ is now sitting at the right hand of God!  Ephesians 1:20


                              Sitting” means He has completed what His Father wanted Him to do!  

 

                    The Scriptures say that only God is immortal, can’t die.  I Timothy 6:15-16

 

                If Jesus Christ were a “God-Man”, 

         He couldn’t have died!

     “Which in His (Jesus Christ) times, He shall show Who (God) is the blessed and only                    Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords; Who (God) only hath immortality dwelling in        the light which no man can approach unto, Whom (God) no man hath seen, nor can see: to         Whom(God) be honor and power everlasting. Amen.”   

 

 

                                The Church doesn’t have the “God-Man” suffering eternally for our sins.

 

                                This implies that God is a Respecter of persons. 

 

                                If God held the value of Jesus on the cross higher than He would have held any                           of us, it would show God to be prejudiced and a Respecter of persons.

 

                               If any of us were in Jesus’ place on the cross, the Church would say that we                                   would have to suffer forever! 

 

 

                               God is no Respecter of persons!

Baptism, The Antitype:

 

                             The Death of Jesus Christ is the "Antitype" of Any Other Types of Baptism

                                                                                                   Romans 6:4

                              “Therefore  we are buried with Him by baptism into death

                         that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father,

                         even so, we also should walk in newness of life."

Begotten:

 

                 “Begotten”  Means "Created" and also “Promised One” 

                             It Does Not Mean  “God”  

                                              In Scripture, there were several “Promised Ones”. 

                               Each of them had a unique birth which indicated God 

                               had a special plan for their lives. 

 

                 Psalm 2:7 is a prophecy of the birth of Jesus Christ God's only begotten 

                                                    (created and promised) Son.

                                John 1:14, 18, 3:16,18  these verses all speak of Jesus, God's only begotten (created and promised) Son

                                               Acts 13:33 ( Paul quotes Psalm 2:7)

)

                                               Hebrews 1:5, 6  The writer is speaking of Jesus Christ as God's only begotten (created and promised) Son

                                               Hebrews  11:17 "By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises                                                                                   offered up his only begotten (created and promised) son."

                                               I John 4:9, 5:1,18 speaks of Jesus has God's only begotten (created and promised) Son

                                               Revelation 1:5 speaks of Jesus Christ being the first begotten (created and promised) from the dead.

 

 

 

God told Abraham He would make of him a great nation but, Abraham and Sarah had no children. Gen 12:1-3

Abraham and his wife Sarah tried to help God by Abraham having a child with Hagar, Sarah’s Egyptian handmaiden.

The son from this union was Ishmael. 

Ishmael was not God’s “Promised One” from whose line the Savior would come.

God waited until both Abraham’s and Sarah’s bodies were too elderly to have a child.

It was then that God gave them the “Promised One”, a miracle child who they named Isaac.

 

 It was through Isaac’s line that Jesus Christ, the "Only Begotten Son of God" (Created and Promised One), would come!

             And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory,

Beliefs of the Essenes, Pharisees, Sadducees, Zealots:

Essenes – separatists   Pharisees - traditionalists -put wrong spiritual lessons to everything. -hypocrites about everything!

Sadducees - only looked at the first 5 books of the OT, - didn’t believe in resurrection – their thinking, “-be the best we can be today.”

Zealots – political activists - thought Christ was a radical. 

Jesus certainly didn’t fit in any of these groups! But, the thrilling thing is that Jesus Christ took people from each of these groups and made believers out of them!

 

 

What Jesus Said to Each Of These Groups: 

                                                         

To Essenes He said, “For peace with God, separate from all uncleanliness.”  “Let your light shine.”

To the Pharisees Jesus said, “But I say unto you…” To the Sadducees Jesus said, “I am the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob”.  In other words, “I am the same yesterday, today and forever.”

To the Zealots Jesus said, “We’re not here to change the world!”  “Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's.” “We’re here to change the hearts 

of men.”

 

Today, we still have people in these four categories!  These groups do not understand, nor can they, that salvation is of the Lord!  Jonah 2:9

                         These Are The Wonderful Things God Does For 

                    His People In The New Covenant of Jesus’ Blood:

                                God:

                                                  -gives us a new heart of flesh.

                                                       -puts His Spirit within us.

                                                  -causes us to walk in His statutes.

                                                  -helps us to keep God’s judgments and do them!

                                                  -has us dwell in Beulah Land (marriage with Christ).

                                                  -will be our God and we will be His people.

                                                  -puts His laws in our inward parts and write them on our hearts.

                                                  -will have us fear Him forever.

                                                  -will make this an everlasting covenant for us!

                                  PRAISE GOD for The New Covenant

Canaanites:
 

THE CANAANITES PICTURE THE ENEMY WITHIN US – OUR OLD WAYS OF THINKING

The Canaanites of the OT were the 7 groups of people originally dwelling in the Promised Land.God told the Israelites to “Possess the land, which the Lord your God which gives to you to possess it.”  As saved people, we are now in Beulah Land – married to Jesus Christ.

 We need to “possess this land” by gaining the mind of Christ.
We need to replace this old mindset with the mind of Christ which can only be gotten by studying God’s Word.
In the land of Canaan, (Israel) there were 7 groups of people and their names ended with “ites”. 

7 = completion.
It’s very important to know that, because of what Christ has done for us, there is in us, no “Canaanite” separate us from  the love of Christ. Romans 8:37-39

 But God commended His love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us

 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being  reconciled,  we shall be saved by His life.

Christ’s Two Questions Concerning Himself :

 1. “What think you of Christ?”

2. " Whose Son is He?"

                                     Matthew 22:42

                                            

      It's very important to be able to correctly answer these two questions!

 

                                             

II Samuel 7:1-17 is the foundational passage to understanding whose Son the Christ is:

God promised David that He would set up His Kingdom using David’s seed.

This would make the King Who God would put on David’s throne, a descendant of David.  

This King would be David’s Son!

 

We read in Matt 1:1 “The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham.”

 

Jesus Christ has two fathers:

David, from whom Jesus descends, is Jesus' earthly father. The Pharisees knew that much! 

 

What the Pharisees did not know, was that the Christ is also the Son of God! 

 

God declared Jesus to be so. Matt.3:17   “And lo a voice from Heaven, saying, 

 

 

                  ‘This is My beloved Son in Whom I am well pleased.’

 

 

   Most of the Church wrongly teaches that Jesus Christ is God the Son

 

                           Jesus Christ is not God the Son!

 

Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  

 

 

               In Psalm 110, David prophesied that his descendant would be 

 

                                      the Son of God,                                                        

                                      not God the Son!

 

 

                         (David wrote Psalm 110 about a thousand years before Jesus Christ was born of a virgin.)

 

 


                              Jesus quoted Psalm 110:1 to the Pharisees:

 

                             ”The LORD (God, the Existing One) said unto my Lord, (Jesus Christ)

                                            'Sit Thou (Jesus Christ) at My (God, the Existing One) right hand, 

                                             until I make Thine (Jesus Christ's) enemies (the unsaved elect) 

                                   Thy (Jesus Christ's) footstool.’” 

 

 

                                    In this verse, God had David write that He (God) 

                              told David’s descendant (Jesus Christ) to sit at His (God's) right hand.

      Wow!  Scripture tells us that Jesus Christ 

       is presently seated at the right hand of God!                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Hebrews 8:1.

 

                         The OT “picture” of Jesus Christ sitting at the right hand of God 

                         is Joseph seated at the right hand of Pharaoh. Genesis 37-50

 

                  Joseph was the image, or form of Pharaoh. But Joseph was not Pharaoh! 

                       Joseph had the rule over every thing and every one except Pharaoh

 

 

                       After God saves His people, they are no longer His enemies. 

                       They sit at His footstool and learn of Him. Heb 1:13, James 2:3, Psalm 132:7

 

                      The Pharisees did not get the fact that they were standing and talking

                      to Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of God.

 

                As believers in Jesus Christ, it’s important that we know Who Jesus Christ is,

                                       …a man approved of God…  Acts 2:22

                                                                                                                                                                                                              

 

 

 

                                         The Bible is 

 God's Full Revelation Of His Son Jesus Christ!

 

           In the Bible, God has given us the Old Testament, (Old Covenant)

       and the New Testament, (New Covenant). 

          God has given us the "witness of two Covenants, or Testaments. 

          The first Covenant has physical "pictures" of the second                           Covenant's  Truths of Jesus Christ.


          In our study of God's Word, we need to match each OT "picture"            with the NT doctrines being "pictured".  

               

In doing this, we will know we have the Truth!

 




 

       We  must be ready to give the reason 

          for the hope that is in us. I Peter 3:15 

 

      This means we need to use the Scriptures and show the verses 

      to those who ask us why we believe what we do. 

     We should be able to show those who ask, why we have the                 

     hope of  being resurrected from the grave! 

 

     It's important for them to read the Scriptures that say we will forever

     be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and with God, our 

     precious Heavenly Father.

 

                      ARE YOU ABLE TO USE THE SCRIPTURES TO GIVE THE REASON FOR THE HOPE THAT IS WITHIN YOU?

Conscience:                           

                                                      

                                                 EVERYONE HAS A CONSCIENCE

                                                Ro 2:15, 9:1,13:5 II Cor 1:12, 4:2, I Tim 1:5,19, 3:9,4:2 Titus 1:15, 

                                                  Heb 9:9,14,10:2,22, 13:18, I Pet 2:19, 3:16,21                

                       This is proven by the fact that all people are guilty of judging others.

                                                                                                                                                                                                        Romans 2

  

                                 Conscience is not a lawgiver.  It does not make laws, or even reveal laws.

 

                           Conscience acts as a judge either “accusing” or “excusing” every action, and                                meting out internal punishment where necessary. 

 

                           Conscience uses the standard provided for it.  Standards can be very

                       different from people to people.

. 

                           If an action is inconsistent with the standard a person has acknowledged is right,                         then conscience cries,“Guilty! You are a hypocrite!”

 

                           Concerning our relationship with God, the conscience can never be quieted until it                       has been silenced in its condemning ministry. 

 

                          The Christians’ freedom is freedom of conscience, freedom from tyranny of the                             law and the dreadful struggle to keep the law.

 

   

            There are two things that quiet a condemning conscience:

                           1. The Law that informs the conscience must be presented with

                      a perfect, sinless life that has earned righteousness

 

                     2. A sacrifice must be offered that sufficiently pays for sin, and satisfies

                     God’s holy character.

 

                   Jesus Christ’s offering satisfied both God’s 

            Holy Character, and the sinner's guilty conscience.

 

                                                     Animal sacrifices could not cleanse the conscience

                                          because they could not pay for sin.

                                               Christ’s atonement purged our conscience from dead works

                                          (rituals, ceremonies) to serve the living God.  Heb 9:14   

  

 

                                               The Christian’s conscience has been eased.  Praise God!

                                          When we're with the Lord , we will not need a conscience.

Contend for the Faith:

                                      

                               WHY DO WE NEED TO EARNESTLY CONTEND FOR THE FAITH?

                                       

          

                       Jesus asked, 

                        “…when the Son of Man cometh, 

                        shall He find faith on the Earth?" 

                                                                                                                                                                                                  Luke 18:8
                                        

       This means when Jesus returns to Earth, will He find the original doctrines 

     being taught? These Truths, or Doctrines, have been changed, watered down, omitted, etc.

 

                                              God tells us what to do about this:

 

                             “…you should earnestly contend for the faith 

                           which was once delivered unto the saints.  Jude 3

Creeds:

                  

                   The False Doctrine of the Trinity Was Included in the Nicene Creed of AD 325

                        The Chalcedon Council AD 451 defined the Nicene Creed. This was approximately 300 years after the                                      Crucifixion of our Lord. 

 

                   It was the first Creed to teach the error of God being three Persons in One.

 

                   All of today’s Bible translations are based on the Nicene Creed and thus are Trinitarian.

 

                  There have been approximately 1500 years of established Church dogma of this error.

 

                   In 185 AD, Iraneous, an early Church Father, clearly wrote that we have a record of the Apostles 

                   saying there is One God, the Father, and One Christ, Jesus. 

 

                   The title “Christ” does not mean God!  It means “Messiah”, “Savior”.

                                       THE APOSTLES DID NOT WRITE ABOUT A "TRINITY"
                       

                                               The Apostles wrote of “Our God Who is our Savior and King.”

                                          The Apostle also said that there is one God, the Father, 

                                     Who made all; things through His Word. There is no other God.

 

 

                                     Ten Errors the Nicene Creed Espouses are:

                                                              1. Jesus does not have two natures, but is fully God and fully Man.

 

                                                  2. It would be heresy to say "the Man side of God" was not perfect.

 

                                                  3. Jesus Christ went to the cross with full Deistic knowledge.

 

                                                  4. The three Persons are all God yet, there are not three Gods or three Lords.

 

                                                  5. God is not begotten, but the Son is begotten.

 

                                                  6. God the Son is twice begotten.

 

                                                              7. Jesus Christ had no beginning. 

 

                                                  8. Jesus Christ is God the Son.

 

                                                  9. God died on the Cross.

 

                                                 10. Jesus Christ was “eternally begotten”.

The men who wrote the Creeds used a sleight of hand when they said that Jesus was "eternally begotten" 

"eternally begotten" cannot be found in Scripture.

The men who wrote the creeds  added the word “eternally” and said that this can’t be comprehended by man. 

They said this must be accepted by faith, and if God does not give you the faith to believe this, 

then it brings your Christianity into question.

 

 

                                             In Revelation 3:14,  it is very clear that

 

                                  Christ had a beginning!

 

                                                         (Jesus Christ was telling John what to write to the Church at Laodicea.) 

 

                             Jesus called Himself three things:

                                                                  Revelation 3:14

 

                                                                                 "The Amen" 

                                                                 "The Faithful and True Witness"  

                                                                 "The Beginning of the Creation of God."

 

Revelation 3:14

(Jesus Christ speaking to John)  ' And unto  the angel of the Church of the Laodiceans write; "These things saith The Amen, (Jesus Christ). 

The Faithful and True Witness,(Jesus Christ) The beginning of the creation of God." (Jesus Christ)"

 

 

The Creeds, and thus the Churches, wrongly use the term “only begotten Son” 

They say this term means only Son or God-Man.

 

God uses the term “begotten” in John 3:16 as His “Only Promised Son”.

Our OT “picture, shadow, or type” of this is Gen 21-22.  Here we have the story of Isaac’s birth to Abraham and Sarah.

 

Isaac was their second son! Ishmael was their first son!  But Isaac, the second son, was the Promised Son!

The Hebrew writer refers to Isaac as Abraham’s “…only begotten son…” Heb 11:17

The proof that both Isaac and Jesus were the “Promised Sons” is in the miraculous ways they were born. 

 

Abraham and Sarah were too elderly to have children and Mary was a virgin. Gen 21

Simply put, the thing that is obviously wrong with these creeds is an inconsistency of definitions of words. 

It is all double talk! 

 

We can’t think X and not X at the same time.  Neither can we think positive and negative at the same time. 

 

We can’t think “begotten” and “not begotten” at the same time or “God” and “Man” at the same time. 

 

      These creeds are basically saying that God can cease to be God

      and that He did this when He died on the cross. 

 

                       This is double talk! 

 

         Scripture clearly states that God is immortal and can’t die! 

                                                                                                                                                      I Timothy 6:16

 


1.  The creeds are illogical!

2. These creeds come right out of the Catholic Church.

 

3. The Church wanted something to hold the people who had come              out of pagan beliefs where they worshiped three gods.

 

4. The Church did not think that the Truth of Jesus Christ  
   being fully Man would hold the people. 

 

 

5. The Church thought that saying "Jesus Christ was fully God 

   and fully Man"would be more marketable to the masses. 

 

 

6. The creeds have never been changed.

 

 

7. In both Catholic and Protestant Churches, the majority of the                  people haven’t reador studied the Truths of God’s Word.

 

 

8. The people have just accepted what they have heard their priests              and pastors say.

 

 

9. Not only have the creeds stopped the study of God’s Word, they                have also stopped the debate about what God’s Word says.

 

 

10.God’s Word tells us to edify one another. But we can’t edify one              another if we don’t study and debate the Scripture. Romans 14:19

Death:

                        “And as it is appointed unto men once to                            die, but after this the judgment." Hebrews 9:27

 

                                    “For as in Adam all die, even so in                        Christ shall all be made alive.” I Co 15:22 

 

             After death, both the saved and the unsaved go to the grave                  

                  where there is no consciousness.  Ecc 9:10

 

                  Their spirits have returned to God. Ecc 12: 6-7

 

                  Their dust returns to the earth. Ecc 3:20

 

                  Scripture refers to saved people as being “asleep in Jesus”

                                                                                                             I Co 15:18. 

 

                  The saved do not go immediately to heaven. They stay in                        the grave until the archangel’s shout, 

                   the trump of God and then they will rise to meet 

                   the Lord Jesus Christ in the air.
